Quick overview

Free online image compression — fast and without losing quality

Need to speed up a website, fit images into an email, or free up cloud space? Our free tool compresses images while preserving their appearance. Just add files — it will handle the rest.

What the service does

  • Supports JPG, PNG, SVG, and GIF formats.
  • Works with multiple files at once — saving time for bulk content preparation.
  • Shows a progress indicator and detailed status for each file so you can see the progress.
  • Automatically downloads the result: a single file immediately; multiple files in one ZIP archive.
  • Download buttons become active only after compression, preventing mistakes.
  • All processing happens entirely in your browser — files never leave your device, ensuring privacy.

How it works

  1. Click «Compress image» and choose JPG, PNG, SVG, or GIF — multiple selections are allowed.
  2. Watch the indicator: each file goes through analysis and optimization.
  3. When finished, the result downloads automatically. If there are many files, you'll get an archive with the reduced versions.

Why compress images

  • Speed: pages load faster, bounce rate drops, and conversions improve.
  • Savings: less bandwidth and disk space.
  • Convenience: compact files are easier to send in messengers and email.

Format tips

  • JPG — for photos and complex scenes.
  • PNG — for graphics with transparency and UI elements.
  • SVG — for icons and logos (vector).
  • GIF — for simple animations.

Our algorithm aims for the best balance between size and visual quality, so images look the same after compression — just with a smaller file size.

Try it now: add a few files, track the progress, and get lightweight, neatly optimized images in a couple of clicks.

Frequently asked questions

How do I start compressing images?
Drag files into the upload area or click «choose files». Supported formats: JPG, PNG, SVG, and GIF. Then press «Compress» and wait for the progress indicator to finish.
How many files can be processed at once and which formats are supported?
Up to 50 files per run. Formats: JPG, PNG, SVG, GIF. Progress is shown for each file.
What does the “Quality (JPEG/WebP/AVIF)” slider control?
It’s the compression level for JPEG, WebP, and AVIF (lossy). The default value of 85 is a good balance. The lower the number, the smaller the file and the more noticeable the loss. The slider doesn’t affect PNG and SVG.
How does “Max width/height (px)” work?
We resize the image proportionally so the long side doesn’t exceed the specified value. 0 means the size is unchanged. Example: set 1600 to compress large photos for the web.
What does “Enhanced compression (WebP/AVIF if smaller)” do?
The tool will automatically save the result as WebP or AVIF if the final file is smaller than the original. The extension may change. If you strictly need the original format, uncheck the box.
What is EXIF and should I keep it?
EXIF is metadata (camera, date, coordinates, etc.). By default we remove it to save space and improve privacy. Enable “Keep EXIF” if the metadata matters. We apply the orientation to the pixels — the photo won’t be flipped.
How safe is this? Are files uploaded to a server?
All processing happens entirely in your browser, files never leave your device. It’s faster and more private. Keep the tab open until the process completes.
Where do I find the result and why are the download buttons gray?
After completion we automatically download the output: single files immediately, multiple files in a ZIP archive. Download buttons become active only after compression — wait until the indicator for all files reaches 100%.
Will transparency be preserved and what happens to SVG?
Transparency in PNG/WebP is preserved. SVG is optimized as vector (no rasterization), its appearance remains the same.
The file barely shrank or the quality dropped — what should I do?
Try: (a) lowering quality to 70–80 for photos, (b) setting “Max width/height”, (c) enabling “Enhanced compression”, (d) not keeping EXIF. For graphics with sharp edges, PNG/WebP works better; for photos — JPEG/WebP/AVIF.
